Infiltration studies

Infiltration tests are carried out in order to determine the water absorption capacity of soils in areas of engineering interest where a particular project is to be implemented.

They are very useful for guiding the preparation of the project, as well as being necessary for its approval by licensing bodies.

Examples of some projects or works that require preliminary infiltration tests:

  • Allotment area with local sewage treatment system;
  • Local sewage treatment system: septic tanks, anaerobic filters, drains or infiltration trenches;
  • Landfill sites;
  • Area where water dams are located.
